Excellent, well made, gimbal that doesn?t require removing my ball-head from the tripod to use. Definitely recommend this gimbal to those that want something more substantial than the low-cost alternatives.

This Gimbal head is very well engineered. the head operates with an unbelievably smooth action on both axis. I would rate this as the best in class (ball mounted / side camera mount) and is very lightweight. The limiting factor to the performance of this style of gimbal head is your ball head. The Tomahawk perform extremely as a side mount Gimbal. The weakness is when moving your gear fully assemble, the ball head tends to slip out out of position. If you move your gear fully assembled, I would recommend considering either the GK Katana Gimbal Head Side Mount or the GKJr. Katana Junior full Gimbal Head. These are engineered with the same high quality smooth precision and are rock solid in all aspects of their performance. I feel these Gimbal heads are clearly the best in class and are under priced in the market because ProMedia is a young company that is not very well know. You will pay more the get the similar performance from better know brands. This is a very cool and upcoming company.
