About Profoto 4x6' RFi Softbox

The Profoto 4 x 6' RFi Softbox has a high reflective silver interior that gives a higher output and a crispy character. The light is then diffused through not one but two diffusers, thereby creating a much softer and even light spread. It also features removable recessed front diffuser. The color-coded speedrings and the handy Velcro attachments make this softbox smooth to assemble and disassemble.

Profoto 4x6' RFi Softbox Features

  • High efficiency for maximum output: This softbox offers a unique high-efficiency silver lining to maximize both light output and evenness of illumination. This allows a photographer to get repeatable consistent results regardless of the softbox they are using
  • Color coded for easy set-up: Using a simple color-coded system on the rods and speed rings makes assembling the softbox simpler and faster than ever before. Just match the rod color to the color on the speedring and you're on your way

Questions about this item:

Shopper  What stand is recommended with this soft box (paired w White Lighting)?
Brad S  A really heavy one, perhaps even a cinema stand. However, the stand may be the least of your problems. Although this is a amazing softbox, and just the thing for evenly lighting groups, it's too heavy for the White Lightning's mount and will require serious counterweighting to keep it from overpowering the White Lightning tilt clamp and pointing at the floor. I attached 2 - 3/8" x 4' steel rods to the umbrella connectors on top of the strobe and used a 5# boom weight, slid out nearly to the end in order to balance this. The whole package is workable on a low stand but when cranked up over 5 or 6' in the air it requires extensive sandbagging of the stand legs and it still sways a bit even on my heaviest stand. This configuration worked, but I spent the entire shoot expecting it to come crashing down. I'm currently looking at various mounting options including a customized version of the Kacey Enterprises (they have a web site) Einstein bracket to address this issue and make this and other heavy boxes practical on Buff lights. To reiterate, this is an utterly amazing light box, with beautiful and even light and Profotos renowned build quality. If I can find a practical mounting solution for Buff lights I'll be back for a another. Good luck!
Mario M  I have an older light unit called a POWERLIGHT 600. Does this softbox include an attachment for my light?
Andrew R  This unit does not include a speed ring. You'll need to purchase the appropriate speed ring for your Powerlight 600 separately.
