The right thing to do.

It protects the lens and filters UV. When your 2 year old daughter reaches up to touch the pretty glass and gets ranch dressing on the filter instead of the lens, you will be perfectly justified in the few bucks you spent. Maybe you know why you should have a UV filter on, maybe you don't, but when ranch dressing is in play it trumps everything else.

Reasonably priced filter

This filter will do good job protecting the camera lens, though if you are looking for HD results then look somewhere else.

I like it

This inexpensive filter provides UV protection. I always have a filter on to protect the lens surface and this is a great alternative to clear glass.

Smart low cost filter to protect lens

from Washington  -  Photo Enthusiast

I leave this filter installed on my lens to protect it from scratches. I have used Pro Optic on all my other lenses for this same purpose. This filter transmits light nicely and thus is a good filter for protecting my lens in all photo shooting conditions.

Got this mainly for protection from the little fingers(kids) that always reach for the lens. Makes my outdoor pictures have more clarity.
