Great Option for Elinchrom Ranger

By

from Denver, Colorado  -  Pro Photographer

I opted for the Pocket Wizard system on an Elinchrom Ranger AS Speed because sometimes I use speedlights in conjunction with other main lights and I don't know of a way to integrate the Elinchrom skyport system with speed lights. Use this with the AC Zone controller on a couple of speedlights and you can light just about anything and control it from one place. Great flexibility, you can program the length of time the modeling light stays on through the Pocket Wizard utility (great for evening shoots), and it just plain works.

Questions about this item:

Andrew S  Will the PowerST4 work with Ranger Quadra's?
MARC D  No, this only works with the Ranger RX. In order to use the Pocketwizard system on the Quadra, you can use a FlexTT5 with the Pocketwizard MM1 cable plugged into the sync port or you can use a regular pocketwizard PlusII, Plus III, Multimax,... The FlexTT5 is a nice option because it allows you to get sync speeds up to about 1/4000s (and you obviously need the MIniTT1 or FlexTT5 on camera as well to get the higher sync speeds).
Ismaeil A  Hi I need PowerST4 433.42 - 434.42 MHz - CE Do you have it?
Andrew R  The unit in this listing is the PowerST4 and works with the following frequencies: 340.00 - 354.00 US FCC/IC 433.42 - 434.42 MHz - CE
Shopper  What unit do I need on my Nikon camera to work with the Power ST4 for Elinchrom Ranger AS ? Thanks in advance.
DUANE E  I'm using a Canon camera and on it I have a PW MininTT1. Go to the PW utility and update both units. Once I updated them it has worked flawless.
