Great quality for less money. Sharp images. Good color. Edges of the photo are perfectly natural, not distorted. the focus and aperture rings have a nice smooth feel when operated. For the price it's a great lens and I would recommend it.

Seems a good lens but has limitations for dslr camera . If you are not professional and not go for 180* capture for video this is not good for you. Only works in appreture and manual mode in Nikon dslr I used. Focus manual only. So it is difficult if you take a lot of moving object in your video. I did not find a good use to it, so sent it back. I rated one less start because of the limitations. Otherwise it would have got 4.

This lens will work with on all Nikon APS-C sensor cameras. It can also be adapted to Canon EF and other lens mounts. ** The lens provides a fish-eye field of view. ** It's almost wide enough to see your finger on the grip on the camera. ** There's not much need for focusing as it's essentially so wide that the field of view doesn't really change with it's T3.8 and above Aperture. ** The lens does a great job maintaining luma/chroma graduations and provides a very nice lens flare in the right conditions. (I really like the look of a smooth pan when shooting video with this lens... Just watching the wide-world we live in with a beautiful multi-aspect lens flare punching through the picture and rotating with Rokinon's large front lens element.) ** The Iris works wonderfully smooth. ** The lens produces reasonably sharp pictures and/or video, especially for the cost. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ** One user note: ** The front lens element is very large and susceptible to damage. ** Take extra special care not touch or scratch it.

The Rokinon 8mm T/3.8 Fish Eye HD Cine Lens is a Fisheye lens with a 180 Degree field of view. This lens provides the signature fisheye distortion on full frame and APS-C sized sensors, without having to add additional optics or post production image processing that can severely degrade image quality. Designed for shooting HD video, it features a silent iris ring for smooth iris pulls and both the focus and iris rings have built-in gears to accommodate follow focus and iris motors. The lens features an internal focus design which keeps the front of the lens from turning as focus is changed.
The optical design consists of 10 elements in 7 groups with 1 aspherical element to deliver a crisp image with minimal chromatic aberrations across the imaging field.
The lens has an aperture range of T3.8 to 22, and you can close focus down to 12 inches from the image plane. It features a removable Tulip shaped lens hood.
