The Rolls RP583 is a clean, delightfully warm sounding compressor/limiter designed for a variety of uses. It can lightly compress a vocal track, or an overall program mix, or it can act as a ceiling for the audio allowing only a designated level of signal pass. All this is accomplished via optical isolated gain reduction and tube circuits to maintain a pristine fullbodied sound.

The RP583 has all the necessary features like analog metering, variable threshold, ratio, attack and release times and a stereo link switch which combines the channels and makes Channel Two the master. With the recent explosion of the digital recording world, tube based preamps and signal processors have become popular to overcome the inherent harshness and brittle sound created by the recording medium.

Tube based compressors have the added benefit of a natural, even harmonic compression which adds a smooth and warm characteristic to the sound.
