About Rolls SLC19

The Rolls SLC19 is designed to control stereo audio signal levels. Since the unit is passive and requires no power, it can go anywhere in a line level signal path - and does not need to be located near a power source. The SLC19 features 2: 1/4 Tip-Ring-Sleeve and XLR inputs and 2: 1/4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve and XLR outputs.

Applications for the SLC19 include level control for the outputs of keyboards, mic-preamps, mixers to powered speakers, computers to desktop speakers and more. Virtually anywhere a balanced or unbalanced line-level signal needs extra level control - the SLC19 will do the job. It's ideal to use with high-output condenser microphones as it maintains the balanced condition and will pass phantom power.

Rolls SLC19 Features

  • Passive, line level control with multiple applications
  • Placed before analog-to-digital converters for instance, the SLC19 can control the input level to the converters, thus preventing clipping
  • Can be used at the output of one piece of equipment to prevent overload on the next signal device, such as a hot microphone preamp output into a sensitive compressor input
  • Level control and mute switch for a pair of powered monitors
  • Passive line level control for extension speakers
  • Can be used for a high-output condenser microphone to tame its output, while still being able to receive passed-through phantom power

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I need to reduce the stereo audio output level from a powered mixer at -10dbu to a low impedance microphone input of -72db. Will this attenuator do the job? Tom Silver
IGNATIUS M  Possibly... Rolls gives no specs for it! But it very possibly can. The Radial JPC and Whirlwind pcDI will serve you if this doesn't.
