Light and fast

It is so easy to use to transfer captures from my CF card to my Mac. Very light and sturdy as well, and, the transfer rate is very fast. A good value.

Works Perfectly

Only reason I didn't give it five stars was the price--though, if you get it with one of Sandisk's frequent rebate offers, it's a bit more reasonable. Works perfectly--and it's very fast. No problems at all.

Does exactly what it's meant to

A real time saver! Allows me to get on with the job and not have to wait around while I download images onto my computer.

Awesome speed...!

Both reads and writes fast in camera with delay. Of course the Firewire 800 rocks. Specially with RAW files.

Incredible download speeds

Fast, as in transferring over 200 mb in about 5 seconds. (On a MacBook Pro using the FW 800 cord). My first CF card is also a Sandisk (4GB Extreme III) and I've had no problems with it at all. I decided to buy another 4GB for this summer's vacation. The reader is rather small and light weight. The only issue I had was with installing the Rescue Pro Deluxe software on my Mac. I had a hard time unpacking the .bin file (it didn't begin install immediately like it would on a windows comp).

overall good ,watch Compatibility

I had to buy a firewire card as this would not work correctly on my built in HP firewire ports. My ports work with other devices but for some reason not this one. Sandisk tech could not explain the problem was going to replace but I bought a new firewire card (to save time and hassel on the 4-6weeks after they receive the reader back) With new port card I would give reader and cf card max stars, just that it cost me an additional [$]. I did try this on my work computer and there were no issues so HP owners beware!

Very Fast D/Ls. Only way to go

I'll never connect my D300 via the USB now. This is the only way to go. It's very fast....

Fast and quility

This card and reader is fast and worth every penny. It has no trouble keeping up with my Canon 40d. Getting the pictures from the card to my computer is a snap with the FW800 cable. The reader is now afixed to my ext. hard drive which has a built in card reader thats usb 2.0. I think its going to be getting dusty because I am going to be using the SanDisk reader from now on.

Great Pair Makes Big Difference

I am often shooting under deadlines so I was looking into ways to speed the ingestion of photos during assignments. While USB 2 may have similar speed ratings, the sustained throughput of firewire proves to be a big advantage. I also like the size of a 4G card, I primarily shoot RAW so this give me enough images that I don't feel like I am changing the card all the time, but now so many pictures that if the card failed I would have lost everything.

Great Product

Very Fast, Reliable and Great card reader. I was shocked when my card reader on my printer didn't accept the Faster III IV version of the Compact Flash card.

Awesome Speed

Great product. I was transfering via usb from my Nikon D200 which was at a snails pace compared to this. Good price for memory and card reader combo.

A great FireWire reader at a good price

The firewire connection makes for very fast downloads. I was getting ~ 28 to 30 MB/sec download speeds.

Speed counts

Image transfer in the camera is outstanding. Image transfer to the computer is amazingly fast with the firewire connection. I can't go back to USB-2

4 GB Extreme IV Compact Flash-FireWire

4GB Extreme IV Compact Flash with FireWire interface is faster than the standard Extreme. 4GB Extreme III was about the same as IV in speed but download is great on both.
