Comments about Sony Sony VRD-MC5 DVDirect MC5 Multi-Function DVD Recorder:
I purchased in order to convert VCR tapes to CD.
Unfortunately most (all?) are protected against copying. I called Sony tech support and they said there is nothing you can do.
Beware if this is what you wanted to use if for.
I did not try any other feature.

Yikes. Used the unit 10 times at NCAA events. When it worked - about 50% of the time - it was great. Two weeks out of warranty it went kaput, and Sony told me to pound sand. Back at you Sony. I own Sony broadcast video products and am very disappointed that they chose not to stand behind this product.
