Comments about Canon Canon 10 x 42 L IS Image Stabilized, Water Proof Porro Prism Binocular with 6.5 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

I got these binocs for auto racing and football watching and a little casual birding. The Image Stabilization feature is truly amazing. They are easy to focus and with image stab, the shakes and wobbles usually associated with high power binocs are gone. They are a bit pricey but worth the money in my opinion. I wish they were ligther but they arn't bad and a little weight from the image stab feature is to be expected.

Comments about Canon Canon 10 x 42 L IS Image Stabilized, Water Proof Porro Prism Binocular with 6.5 Degree Angle of View, U.S.A.:

I have been using the Zeiss 7X42 Clasic for Astronomy and bird watching for over ten years now. Nothing could hold a candle to the Zeiss until the Canon 10X42IS-WP came along. In a side by side comparison the Canon is just as brite even though it is 10X instead of 7X of the Zeiss. The Canon is a little heavier but not a problem. The IS is the thing that makes this set outstanding. The stability of the picture combined with the overall brightness, gives the Canon a hands down win over any other pair I've tried. I've owned Leica, Nikon, Pentax and Zeiss and these are the top of the top. Don't think about purchasing, just buy em', you will not go wrong.
