Comments about Garmin Garmin Forerunner 305, GPS Enabled Personal Trainer with Heart Rate Monitor:
This is the ultimate tool if you want to track your running or cycling activities. It measures everything you ever dreamt about and using some nice software eg. SportTracks (http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/) you can review your activities in every possible detail. .At first I was sceptic about this product. The main doubts I had were:1. GPS signal: I read that this could be a downfall to the product and since I'm living in rainy Belgium and running in the forest quite often I was really curious how this would work out. So far I was able to get a GPS signal on all my runs: rainy, forest, you name it... this thing will always find you a signal.2. battery: they say you can only use the Garmin up to 10 hours when the GPS is enabled. To be honest, for me that is quite enough. I'm not planning to run for more than 10 hours and I don't see a problem in charging the device after a run. It automatically starts chargin when you connect the device to your computer, so they could not make it easier than that.3. accuracy: they say there is a small delay because of the GPS eg in seeing your actual speed. This is true, but overall this device gives you exactly the distance and speed. During your training there indeed is a small delay, let's say 10 seconds, but this perfectly works for me.4. size: It's indeed a big device you put on your wrist, but let's face it: if you want to see all the data in such a clear format, what else can you expect? The device is not heavy at all, so this doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary: I'm happy I'm able to see all the data I want on 1 and the same screen.
