I find this a GPS is not at all useful if you are very familiar with an area, but it's a lifesaver on out-of-town trips where you haven't a clue how to get somewhere. We found our way all over Philadelphia and New Jersey without a hitch with our low-end nuvi, after having been gone for 25 years and recognizing almost nothing.

For my job I spend a lot of time in the middle of nowhere and this thing saves me time and headaches. The navigation system is accurate (even shows me better ways to get places I've been 100 times) and the voice commands are handy in the country. Sometimes they're annoying but they can be muted (if only my wife had this feature).

If you're looking for something to help you get from here to there then this is a great tool. It lacks some whistles and bells, but I've survived just fine without them
