Comments about Celestron Celestron 3.5" Digital LCD Screen & Camera Unit with Tube Adapters for all Types of Biological and Stereo Microscopes.:
Overall the device worked as I expected and took good quality images. However, for the hefty price tag, I would have expected a few more bells and whistles.
For instance it only supports regular SD cards up to 2GB, not the SDHC cards, which is sufficient, but dated. It also only seems to record in AVI video format, and no support for still image capture, so you have to take a few seconds of video and extract the still image, which is hard from AVI without special software (I resorted to screen capture from Media Player).
The storage case is nice a plus, as well as adapters for any scope and any power outlet.
The device itself is rather light though, and the power cord is enough to move it around. It would be nice if it had a rechargeable Li-Ion battery to avoid the messy cord in the way.
Basically, you can get a much fancier digital camera for much cheaper, the only thing this device has over a camera is the scope mountable CCD.
Bottom line, I'd recommend it, it gets the job done. If there were more choices on the market though, I'm sure someone else could make something better for cheaper.

I used the following setup : B&L Stereozoom 4 with fiber optic ring light or Stocker & Yale fluorescent ring light. At 0.7x the display and photograph both show pronounced interference lines. This condition was noticeable at all resolutions and quality levels using both light sources.
Minor problem; there is no battery retention of setup conditions. The setup has to run every time the device is turned off.
The Celestron eyepiece tube is a loose fit in the microscope. The only method of taking a manual photograph is by pressing a button on the face of the display which then moves! There is however a time delay option if the item to be photographed is dead which gives you an opportunity to realign the device.
There is a Trigger function but with no instructions on how to implement it.
