This is a tremendous scope! Contrary to what most online stores show/write, this scope actually comes with a matte finish. I verified this through Bushnell Customer Service before buying. Was told this scope is not made with a gloss finish. Sure enough, mine is matte. Anyways, I wanted a compact, low-power scope for my Marlin 444P carbine. This scope is very bright and clear. Fast focus eyepiece, power magnification ring, and corrections knobs are all smooth and precise. The Multi-X reticle is crisp and sharp and the wide angle allows for instant target acquisition. I haven't had this scope long so can't comment on durability, although is has thus far handled the wallop my 444 delivers!
