Comments about Swift Sport Optics Swift 8.5 x 44 HHS Audobon, Water Proof & Rubber Armoured Roof Prism Binocular with 6.4 Degree Angle of View.:

I bought the Swift HHS Audubon 8.5x44 (roof prism) to compliment the Swift Eaglet 7x36 I gave my wife. The HHS is the perfect companion to the Eaglet. The 1 1/2 power increase picks-up exactly where the 7 power leave off.My wife uses her HHS for general observation purposes. And for bird watching beyond the range of our backyard. We also keep the binocular in our car to view weather related phenomena, thermal cruising avian, animal life on the mesas and roadside creatures. The 8 1/2 power is barely adequate. But, because our viewing is from a moving vehicle, it is balance between being able to hold a steady image and seeing object details. The Swifts are very well balanced and easy to hold. The underside of the binocular body has cutouts for thumb placement and the upper side has a flat area to rest the fingertips - excellent ergometrics. The binocular body has a textured surface that feels good and is easy to hold-on.The HHS is not a small binocular. It is a compact but full-size instrument - a dense package. There is nothing that I dislike about this binocular other than the integrated diopter and center focus knobs. It is hard to adjust the diopter knob while holding the center focus knob still. It can be done. But, it is not easy or a comfortable task to perform. If you frequently share binoculars, this feature will be hard to get used to.The review at Better View Desired [@]is extremely informative and convinced me to buy this binocular.
