The C4 R meets my expectations and then some. i was disappointed in the product instruction books. Have had to look to other sources on the net to complete the lacking instructions. Good views with this scope though; planets, galaxies and such. Crisp clear images of Saturns rings and Jupiter with moons. Good price too. Heavier and bigger than I thought. Suggest you also buy the [$] eye piece accessory kit and the polar axis finder scope to complete the viewing experience. I expect to enjoy this scope for a long time. I expect you will enjoy it too, once you get passed the instruction book issues.

optics in this scope are very good.check collimatin of tube with focuser and adjust.then check collimation of objective with supplied coll. eyepiece.after doing this Ihave been able to use up to 200 power to advantage. I have owned 3 of these telescopes. I sold 1 to a friend. I gave 1 to my father. this is my most used telescope. I live in ne. ohio. seeing is a6 most of the time.lite pollution doesn't help either. contrast is excellant. my other scopes are a lomo 102 mn. and a 203mm. discovery dob f7. there is a lttlefalse color on the moon but you really have to look for it if you use better eyepieces. mount is a little shaky, but workable. ra and dec moves smoothly. planets, globulars, open clusters, brighter planetary nebulas and double stars are all great in this scope. highly recommened. also optical quality om all three scopes were all the same. vg.
