This is a quality scope, not a department store
junk scope. It excels with the moon and planets,
but the 80mm aperture is large enough to show
hundreds of double stars, open and globular
clusters, nebulae, and many galaxies. Put it on
the light but sturdy Vixen Porta-Mount, as I have,
and you have a very stable scope that is light enough to be grabbed and carried out to the yard, ready for instant use. The saying goes, "the best scope is the one you use the most." I have bigger and more expensive scopes on larger mounts, but
no scope that I use as often and with as much pleasure as this one.
