Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
This 'minus-V' filter provided enhanced contrast on mars and the moon on both my achromat refractors, a 4" F5 and a 4.7" F8.3. There appeared to be some spurious color around bright stars that looked orange to my eye, but not the moon. For both stars and the moon the blue/purple halos were definitely minimized. Would highly recommend this filter.
