Meade suggested that I return the telescope. Upon further research, I found on an LX users group that others experienced the same problem-it wouldn't work with the LX90 GPS. The problem was resolved with the assistance of a fellow astonomer who had created a software upgrade. That upgrade has now been adopted by Meade-43e. All is well now.
