I needed a scope when I travel and did not want to take my full size spotting scope. This scope was in the price range I was looking for. The view is OK at 25X and gets progressively poorer at higher magnifications. It's also somewhat difficult to keep in focus. This scope is OK for a traveling spotting scope but if you can afford a more expensive scope or do not need a compact scope I would not recommend this.
