Well made tool. Precisely couples with lens and camera body. Smooth mount/dismount. Excellent functionality within the range for which it is designed. It really makes a difference when deciding between original Canon products and cheaper second market items. Stick with Canon when it comes to lenses and accessories like this one.

The Canon Auto Focus Extension Tube EF 12 II is very useful for photography of butterflys and moths. The auto focus feature helps capture the beauty of these quick moving creatures. When combined with an image stabilized 75 - 300 mm telephoto lens and the Canon XSi, the EF 12 II fills the frame at distances of ten to fifteen feet.

Easy to use when doing macro photography, giving a better focus range.

I love this tube, it works fantastically! I specifically chose this lens, because it will work with the EF-S lenses as well as the EF lenses. The auto focus works well, although I do prefer to use the manual focus for fine work.

Allows lens to focus on subjects that are much closer to camera.
For a relatively small amount of money, this has opened up a new world of photo possibilities.
