Comments about Adorama Pro Optic Right Angle Finder II for Most Film & Digital Interchangeable Lens SLR Cameras.:

Greatly impressed with this right-angle finder and especially the cost, when compared to the Canon model. In using for astrophotography, it makes focusing easier than when trying to focus through the standard viewfinder. This is a must for anyone using a telescope or any other long lens setup at any angles significantly above the horizontal.

For those of you who have bought this adapter in the past. If you still have it try all the adapters.

Canon Rebel XTi owners, use the Canon 18mm adapter to mount the eyepiece.

The overall quality of the adapter is right on. Though the rubber hood should be removable for cleaning of the eyepiece lens. The blower/brush cleaner only gets so much.

Comments about Adorama Pro Optic Right Angle Finder II for Most Film & Digital Interchangeable Lens SLR Cameras.:

This did not come with an adapter for my Canon 5D which has been out for several years and is certainly not an unusual camera. A product like this is best used with a full frame camera for dynamic low angle images. This is the 2nd Adorama brand product which has been very disappointing to me.

I use this view finder to photograph flowers and other close up photos. I especially like that the eyepiece rotates for viewing at different angles. Very useful addition to my camera accessories and it fits both my Canon cameras!

Comments about Adorama Pro Optic Right Angle Finder II for Most Film & Digital Interchangeable Lens SLR Cameras.:

I use it for portraits of babies and small children. It's a bit wobbly on my D300. The optics are good enough to get the shot composed, but I shoot in bursts and check the results.

It's not Pro-Quality IMO, but it does what it's supposed to do and costs a lot less than Nikon's version.

Comments about Adorama Pro Optic Right Angle Finder II for Most Film & Digital Interchangeable Lens SLR Cameras.:

While the build on this unit is not for the photographer who bangs his gear around I have found it to be well enough built to suit my needs. I don't know why the other two reviewers had trouble with loose fit but mine is solid and stable on my 350D. Keep in mind that when you add another set of optics to anything and include another diopter adjustment you have to learn to set all of the settings right or you will have trouble even if you bought the expensive brand name unit.

Try Another One
By Mike Under Suburban Skies from SLC, UT on 7/16/2007
Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight
Cons:
Not Durable
Best Uses:
Macro Photography
Describe Yourself:
Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Adorama Pro Optic Right Angle Finder II for Most Film & Digital Interchangeable Lens SLR Cameras.:

Unfortunately, I must agree with the first reviewer. I got this unit because I couldn't bring myself to buy the much more expensive Canon version. My main need for a right angle viewer was in macro-photography and astrophotography. Trying to get a critically exact focus on a star or the Moon with just the regular viewfinder on my Canon Digital Rebel XIi was hit and miss -- mostly miss. The little piece of plastic adapter which connects the viewer to my camera was very loose -- too loose. One night, the viewer slipped off, hit the ground, and the adapter broke. Instant useless viewer.
Save your money. Get something better.

Build Quality Lower Than Expected
By ChuckVerified Reviewer from Dallas, TX on 5/4/2007
Describe Yourself:
Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Pros:
Easy To Use, Inexpensive
Cons:
Distorted Image, Wobbly Fit
Best Uses:
Low angle photography
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Adorama Pro Optic Right Angle Finder II for Most Film & Digital Interchangeable Lens SLR Cameras.:

I was able to compare this product with a friend’s Hoodman HRAV on my Nikon D70 and found the adaptors to be much cheaper (plastic instead of metal) and the fit to be less stable (wobbly). There was also considerable optical distortion except in the center third of the image with the 1X magnification. This Adorama Pro Optic product is less expensive than the Hoodman right angle finder, but I wouldn’t make the same choice again.
