Works great as a sun-shield. Easy to remove if needed. Also protects LCD. The hood can be removed while the protective glass remains in place. Definitely worthwhile for protecting the lcd display.

A friend cut a piece of plexiglass to protect the LCD which worked for years, but failed to shade the LCD in sun light.
This is a big improvement. The LCD can still be hard to see, especially since the shade's plastic LCD protector reflects like a mirror. I'm now better able to frame a image.

The Delkin Universal Pop-up Shade is an excellent product for use with my digital Kodak Z1275. It is compact and fits over the LCD screen just right. The pop-up portion can be removed easily, if needed, in low light situations leaving in place the frame and LCD screen protector.
