The hood part got in the way and actually made it more difficult to see the LCD. The rubber eye-cup fell off frequently until it was lost in some tall grass. A total waste of money.
I used this product on my previous camera, a D70 and in spite of it being fragile it let me see the LCD image in all sorts of light and prevented moisture build-up from my breath that clouded the original Nikon protector. Although fragile, each time it broke, I bought another. When I bought a D200 I was eager to buy one to fit my new camera. I even bought a backup. HOWEVER, I quickly found that the design of the camera and the Delkin unit mean the edge sticks up higher than it did on my D70, and quickly small scratches clouded the left lens of my eye-glasses. I now have two of these units sitting unused, and I've spent another $100+ replacing the left lens of my glasses. This product is dangerous for all eye-glass wearers!!!
I would recommend for use with any camera, however, the wings on the side of the shade have a propensity to break off. If they (manufacturers) could prevent the above,They would have a tremendous product. On one brand of these, when the side wings break the top will not stay up.
One of the door spring broken / the right side of the product press against one of the D200 knob / Very hard to open the cover if you don't have sharp nailsand you need two hands to use it/
Scratch very easily/
the lower clip was broken ' one of the "door" spring came out' easy to scratch and very Difficult To Use ( to open it )
A perfect addition to the D200. It protects the LCD screen and provides much needed shading in sunny work
