well worth the money, and better than the cheaper one sold to fit all brands. highly recommend
Once open, the pop-up-shade is difficult to close with one hand. It need two hands, but this is quite unhandy. If you leave it out, getting your eye to the viewfinder is probably impossible.
It does make viewing results in sunlight a bit better, but I would rather put with using my hand for shade. I've retired my D50 pop-up-shade!
On the other hand, the one for my old Sony VI can stay up during shooting since the viewfinder is so wildly inaccurate, so it is somwhat useful.
The LCD on my Nikon D50 is well protected now and I don't have to worry about scratching or damaging it. Great stuff.
