I bought this for my D300s. It does not fit, unless I force it on, then almost impossible to get off. I'm trying to modify it with a hobby knife. For now I leave it off, a waste of money.

The bottom comes down a bit too much, interferes with viewing shots taken... But the advantage far out weighs this minor problem...

I wear no line Bi-focal glasses and sometimes find it difficult to position my eye next to the standard eyepiece to obtain a good focus. I attached the HoodEYE to my Nikon D90 and I have no more focusing problems. The lens of my eyeglass fits comfortable up to the HoodEYE. Thank you, HoodEYE!!

Great Hood. It is very durable, mounts quite securely and forms to your face nicely to block extraneous light. My only complaint is that it doesn't fold flat like Nikon's DK-3. All in all, it is such a better product, that I would buy it again without reservation.

I use my D300 for outdoor events, usually 6-8 hrs or more at a time. This eye cup is perfect. I don't need to remove it much( good thing, because taking it off sucks )Good seal on the eye, comfortable,and the best part- It does not fall off. I've has other cups for other Nikon cameras and lost them all. Haven't found a good cup in years, apparentitly in Canada people don't use them, none of the major camera stores in Edmonton carry them, I even received the "what do you need that for" look, then told "people don't use those any more". Please!

I attach & remove the viewfinder eye piece numerous times during a shoot due to extensive use of a right angle finder. The HoodEye is way too difficult to get on & off - and after day three is permanently OFF. Nikon D300

I just got mine. It doesn't fit.
The slots on the side are too far apart, and the locking bar on the bottom seems overly large. This creates a situation where "sliding it on" requires a steep angle and a ton of force, and when force is applied the side slots can't hold on. I don't know if I just got a bad copy or what, but what I'm holding in my hand (rather than having mounted on my camera as it should be) is junk.

Spent two solid days at San Diego Zoo w/the Hoodman HoodEYE attached to my Nikon D-300 and it is fantastic. Placing the eye right into the soft edges of the eye cup works great. Definitely, worth the money. The only con is that I had a little trouble slipping it onto the camera the first time but eventually, got it right.

I switched from a Canon system (20D) to a Nikon system (D300) and I wanted a rubber eyecup for my new camera. Previously, I had a Canon rubber eyecup and was quite happy with it's performance. The Hoodman was very difficult to slip(?)(how about force) onto my camera. Also, I was really disappointed with the size of the eyecup. It is tiny compared to the Canon model.

Hoodman comes to Nikon's Rescue. The HoodEYE should have been offered OEM from Nikon! Bad Nikon! From day 1 when I bought the Nikon 300 I needed a real functioning eyecup. Light was always getting into my eyepiece and disturbed my framing and concentration. I have been patiently on Adorama's wait list for over 2 months waiting for this near PERFECT eye piece. I have captured many outdoor pictures and this was always hard with the sun coming into the flat OEM eyepiece. I walked outside today to test, and it was 99% perfect. I had to remount the Hoodman Eyepiece a 2nd time after realizing it was not mounted flush on both sides of the square Nikon camera body mount. Some sun was leaking into the viewfinder from the HoodEYE mount so I remounted it and only a Very, Very slight amount of sunlight was leaking in = 99% perfect. If you shoot outdoors under full daylight or indoors with overhead lighting you will LOVE Hoodman's Eyecup.Yes it is a little expensive but worth every penny if annoying light has ever bothered your lensing.
