I love to shoot under very low light and have the camera and lense to accomplish that. I had a problem shaking the tripod/camera, but no longer. It is just fun to be able to get such great shots in low light.

Although I haven't fully tested the timer release function, it does work just fine as a remote release but for that price it should be wireless.
In the bulb setting the seconds are counted with an audible sound, so you can count to yourself if in a dark location rather than look at the display. However, it would be nice to be able to enter a time in and have the shutter close automatically when that time is reached just like the camera does. My D200 can only be set to a max of 30 seconds so it would be great to be able to enter 45 seconds and hit the release and have the shutter stay open for 45 seconds and then close.
The locking feature for the shutter release is too easy to engage. If your finger even slightly moves forward when tripping the shutter release button, it is moved forward into the locked position and the shutter locks open.
I went to Norway and was photographing in cold weather.
This device is small and light to pack.
The illuminated screen is a nice idea but useless because the buttons don't light up. At night the buttons are not tactile enough to find and use... especially when your hand are cold.
The battery cover slipped right off probably from the parts contracting in the cold weather.
This remote kept on functioning in weather as cold as -15 celcius for periods as long as 5 hours! I used alkaline batteries.

I'll use this for long exposure macro, infrared and low light photography. Also will use for time lapse photography. It's a pretty cool and versatile little device. I had to go through quite a bit of trial and error to get it to act as I expected. The manual could use a lot of improvement. Figuring out basics like that the interval isn't calculated from the end of the prior shot but the start of the prior shot made for some pretty amusing confusion. Once I understood some principles though it works well. My one major criticism is that you can't turn it off. For an expensive item that most people will only use on occasion it seems really odd that they designed it so that there is a continuous battery drain (to feed the lcd) when not in use. I shouldn't have to remove the batteries in between uses to minimize battery drain.
Very nice form, fit and function
Handy bit of kit, but a bit bulky for what it is, cable needs to be longer for what I use it for and the buttons seem weak, but works well and does what it says it will.
It?s excellent complement to my camera
I like it. Very well built, a little bigger than expected, but no so bad.
Great for taking timed photos, and very easy to set up.
The only thing that bothers me is the lack of an off/on switch. I hate leaving things on, so I have to take the batteries out when not using it. Because of that it gets 4 stars.
The operation is intuitive and liked that no batteries are required if simply using it to trigger the shutter. Liked that you could turn off the beep. Wished the body was a bit more compact for easy storage in the gear bag.
This remote just fits your hand nicely, easy to use and just works like it was designed to.
Totally reliable, well built.
A real pleasure to work with.
The MC-36 remote cord is a little large but very smooth and easy to use. I especially like the numercial readout and frame sounder. Another plus is that it uses regular AAA batteries which are more economical and easier to find. The MC -36 is very well made like most Nikon products my last remote cord the MC-20 is still working after four years of hard use and I believe the Mc-36 will last just as long.
If this were less expensive I would give it 5 stars. Note: for time exposures this will allow "oddball" exposure times such as 21 seconds that the camera doesn't allow, and in general I think this is easier to use than the camera's menus.
I thought it was a big investment, but it didn't disappoint. Functions were intuitive.[...]
This is one of the reasons I up-graded to the D200 cable remote. I do not like that the screw in is on the front of the camera and it you have to screw a tightening ring which is very small but other than that the cable release works great and I am happy with it. I did buy the extension cord to make it longer but so far I have not used it but I know I will.
great product that is not well advertised as an accessory for the D200. Good product, just wish it had a longer cord.

The remote does as it should and more. With todays digitals the interval and delays are a bit redundant. Pretty pricey for a cable release, however, I try to keep all my equipment with one manufacturer so I stay with NIKON accessaries. This avoids warranty and compatability issues. At this price, it should come with a carrying case, but it does not.

Well, what can I say from a Nikon product like this?
Nothing but great.
Very verastil remote cord with manual and auto release.
You can setup multiple shots with programmed intervals, waiting period and more.
VERY EASY TO USE
