The bulb function does not work on the DX5000 when the release is pressed and slid forward; it just takes a bunch of photos in a line, rather than engaging the camera in an extended exposure. Besides that, it is of decent make, and does its job well. :)

This cable release is great for timed exposures since it can be locked on. I use it on macro, night exposures and landscape with longer times. I recommend it, but one needs to be careful not to damage it by stepping on the wire and yanking it out of the camera.

A very good, if basic, shutter release.

Does not have a timer. Simply press the button for single shot, and press and move up the slider to hold the switch for bulb.
