After reading many negative reviews, I decided to give it a try. After all, they did work for some people. The two that I ordered took a charge according to my charger. When inserted into my Nikon D80 they would not register as being in place. Two batteries, two D80's, two Battery holders. All combinations, the same results. Also, the grooves on the side of the battery got caught when trying to remove from the battery holder and were a general pain to remove. Don't waste your money, or at least pay with credit card or Paypal so they can be returned even if the company gives you a hard time.

The labeling int he picture indicates this is a Japanese battery. Japanese cells are usually much better than [*] Well, the picture is incorrect. This is [*] It was also manufactured sometime in 2009. That means it is over a year old and I just got it. It isn't good on batteries to sit around a while. I'll try this as the primary for a little while and make sure it will hold up.

Can be a real lifesaver to have a backup battery in your bag. Although the OEM Nikon batteries last a long time, there are those times when you've forgotten to recharge them. Don't be caught in the lurch! This is a good backup solution.

i bought two batteries; one performs (as many shots) nearly as well as my Nikon battery, the other takes longer to charge and permits fewer shots. Obviously, the battery manufacturer quality control is poor, since testing would have instantly revealed the defective unit. I prefer not to gamble, but you might due to the low price.

Came with Flashpoint Battery Grip. Fits camera (Nikon D90 well, but does not hold a charge as long as the original battery. But still gets quite a few pictures per charge.

I have found that Adorama's Flashpoint brand of products generally represent a good value, however, this product disappoints. With this battery, I get about half the number of shots per charge compared to the original Nikon brand battery, even though the specs state that it has a higher 1700 MAH capacity. But, in real shooting situations, it will not last as long as the Nikon. However, if you are willing to accept fewer shots per charge (assuming that you are just a casual shooter), this battery would be a decent purchase. But, if you are a serious or professional shooter (as I am), this battery will be a disappointment.

3 weeks ago I got this product [...] In the first charge&use, it did not go long (about 250 shots), but in the 2. 3. charges it increased its performance. Now it can take about 500-550 shots without flash. I am not sure about its performance in the following years, but till now worked fine. For now primarily I use this battery and then the original nikon battery.

I thought I had written a review of this battery before, but I got an email asking to write one...so here goes...

This is a great battery for the price. Initially I was hesitant to purchase a third party battery, specially one that had received mixed reviews. I figured for the price it would be worth a shot. Boy was it ever!

This battery is lighter than the OEM, lasts just as long, and works as well as the OEM en-el3e. After 900+ shots ranging from HC, LV, and S, I still had 40% battery power left...of course I do use only MF, non-cpu lenses so I didn't use the AF motor.

I get the same mileage from my OEM battery, so for the price this battery can't be beat. Highly recommended.

This is a fairly well-designed battery. I use it with my D90 gripped with a Zeikos vertical grip and a Nikon EN-EL3e. It gets the job done, charging and being able to use with the camera and grip, but feels very light weight. It is much lighter than it's Nikon counterpart. This doesnt bug me much, but it did worry me that it wouldnt charge or hold a charge as long as the Nikon. Quite the contrary, however. It charged quickly on the Nikon charger and held the charge about 95% as long as the Nikon battery. After a ton of shooting, the reading on the Nikon was 75% and the reading on this battery was 70%. Not too bad, Id say. The other day, however, in the middle of a shoot, the camera read that both batteries were dead. I knew this couldn't be true because I had just charged both batteries. I opened the grip, switched the batteries in their places, and turned the camera back on. Both batteries read 95% to the camera. This has only ever happened to me this one time, and it was an easy fix, but still something to be noted. All in all, I really like this little battery, but because of this little short out, I had to give it four, instead of five, stars.

I bought this with some reservations. It seems people have a love-hate relationship with this battery. Well, I've come to love it. For the money it can't be beat. I shot close to 900 images on one charge, and even after taking that many images I still had 40% of my battery left. An interesting footnote: the battery weighs less than the Nikon OEM battery, yet it keeps on shooting like my original en-el3e.

Unlike other alternative batteries I have ordered in the past, this one does not get stuck in the camera. I dont know the exact life of the batttery but I've taken 500 photos over an 8-hour period on a single charge.

The charge don´t last the same than original one. have about a 30%less duration(you pay 4times less...no too bad).Weights less, this is indicative of less material inside, for this reason i think last less. Don´t work the memory function of pictures taken by every one charge with satechi battery grip in my D90...if camera enters standby, or you put it in off, the camera don´t remember the number of pictures taken(on the SETUP MENU/BATTERY INFO/but the main indicator is no affected).
Comes without the piece of plastic for protect it(i buy 2 at same time...is no a casual faulty one)
I think other generic battery maybe better than this one...this is too cheap, and you get you pay for!...but for practical terms it works, less the picture taken fuction...

If you need a spare battery and don't have more than 20 bucks, then this is your battery. Battery life is consistently shorter than the five year old EN-EL3e battery it shares time with in my D200. It also seems to take longer to charge.

Use the popup flash and menus and it seems to drain it even faster. I've used afermarket batteries before with better results than this one. For 1/3rd the price of a Nikon battery, I guess you can use three of these and approximate the same life, I guess.

I thought that a non-branded battery might not work or hold its charge, but I was wrong. This battery works as well as the branded original but simply costs less, alot less. I would recommend using these batteries any time.

I bought one of these batteries for my Nikon D200. It lasts about half as long as the original Nikon battery when it's warm out. When it's cold, it lasts about 1/3 as long.

Product took a full initial charge but would only charge to half capacity on subsequent charges. Contacted Adorama and informed them of problem and a replacement was in the mail that day. Hopefully this one will fare better. Bad battery but good customer service.

These batteries don't last after multiple charges/uses. Any batteries made by power2000 are just not reliable. I had a CTA battery fail also.

The batteries Nikon provides have outlasted all the third party batteries I have owned except efilm. That one has kept up with my nikon branded enel3's.

What can I say....a battery is not glamorous, but a backup battery is pretty much essential for travel or long photo shoots where charging the primary battery is either not possible, or would take to long.

Got the battery as part of the D300 pack. Goes almost immediately to third of the charge. Impossible to charge full with original Nikon charger. Not worth the money - go with original Nikon.

I need to return mine because just out of a few uses it showed the battery life as low, then as I went to charge it, it stayed lit, showing it was fully charged, but wasn't because I put it back in my camera knowing it couldn't have charged already, it showed the same couplr of bars, so maybe I just got a bad one.

The first one I had didn't hold a charge. Adorama was terrific about the exchange--no questions asked. So far, the replacement battery has continued to hold it's charge and has performed well.

I find this battery to work well with my D300. I use it in my battery grip. I find it works good with the camera. I don't know that it can replace the Nikon battery which seems to hold a longer charger. However, as a secondary battery it works great. I did also find that it does not easily fit the Nikon battery charger. I have to get it just right or it gets jammed. Overall, I am satisfied with it as a secondary battery backup.
