I have had problems with aftermarket batteries with DSLR's in the past. This one came bundled with the P & S camera accessory kit. It works so I guess that is a good thing. I will use it as a back up battery.

The battery works ok at room temperature and it is robust - it even survived the clothes washer. However, it loses its charge very quickly in cooler temperatures, somewhere around 50-55 degrees. Warming it up in your pocket or hand helps somewhat. Note, just in case you are wondering: This happened before I washed it! The Nikon branded battery performs much better in the cold.
