I went to adorama planning on buying the Canon battery. The salespeople at Adorama convinced me this was a much better choice since the battery charger is small and you can get a battery and charger for so cheap. This seemed insane to me and I was skeptical. The salesperson was intent on having me buy two, but just in case it didn't work I only bought one. It worked fine for 2 shoots, but it can't communicate with the canon camera so you can't see how much battery you have left. I thought that would be fine since I could just use it as a backup. You can't use the charger to charge a canon brand battery, and the canon brand charger can't charge this battery. I sent my camera in to get cleaned by canon and they updated my firmware. When I got it back this battery won't even turn on the camera. It is completely worthless now. I am leaving for Europe very soon and now I am having to rush around to get a new backup battery.

I just finished up a test shoot. I am working at a huge event this weekend and my charger does not work.I cant even take it back because i am in LA. I love Adorama and I never had a problem before so i will let this slide.

Charger gets very hot and burning smell from it for the first time use. luckly no smog coming out.

Fits the flashpoint battery grip well. dosent charge as fast as the Canon OG battery or last as long

1/5 the cost of canon brand battery & charger and works perfectly in 5D MII.
Only down side is that the battery does not communicate with the camera for user to know the battery charge status. Otherwise works great…buy extra battery and given the efficiency of the battery usage in Canon 5D MII, great value without going broke.

It doesn't communicate with the camera and you need the charger it comes with to charge it...
I'm only going to use it as a spare.

So far this battery has done what its suppose to. My only complaint is it charges slowly and doesn't communicate with the camera.

I bought this item as well as a Canon EOS 5D Mark II Camera body, Extended Diamond Warranty and a Flashpoint Battery Grip EOS 5D Mark II. This Battery does NOT Fit into the battery compartment of the Flashpoint Battery Grip. The Battery is too Long! I Would have bought the Proper Battery had I known. Be Very Careful if you consider buying this battery and kit.
