Bought 3 of these batteries. 2 of them charged just fine, but 1 the charger won't even recognize. Haven't had the chance to actually use them to see what the lifespan is of the two batteries that actually did charge up, but not impressed that one was dead on arrival. If the other two work as expected it's still a better deal then buying a Canon brand battery, but I wouldn't risk purchasing only 1, not if you have a 33% chance it won't work out of the box.

I bought this battery as a backup battery before my trip to Alaska. I pulled it off the charger, completely charged and it was dead within 50 photos taken in approximately 30 minutes time. What was even worse was this was my backup and I didn't have another backup - lost tons of photo opportunities. Happened to me again at an airshow and again in other settings. Went back to the expensive but RELIABLE Canon battery.

I bought these rechargeable lithium-ion batteries for my Canon camera as backup batteries for travel. They are much cheaper than the comparable batteries from Canon. I haven't tried them yet so I can't say how they actually perform. They look similar to the Canon batteries.

A very affordable back-up battery. Somewhat slow to charge, and loses its charge quickly compared to the Canon version. But at 1/4 the price, it's a handy emergency backup that I use frequently.

A year later, the battery doesn't hold a charge. Frustrating. If it that doesn't bother you, perhaps go for it. Personally, I think it's better to spend your money on a better battery than constantly have to replace this--or worse, find yourself without a good battery in the field!

I was going on a trip where outlets for my charger weren't going to be readily available, so an extra battery was a must have. When one gets low, just pop it out and slide in a new, fully charged one.

I bought this as a second battery for a Canon Rebel XT. I have had the battery for a month or so and it works fine. It charges quickly as far as I can tell and powers the camera for probably around 500 shots. You can not go wrong with the price, and it came with a cover which is nice.

Bought this battery for [$] on special around the holidays. Maybe it has been the cold weather, but this battery has never held charge for more than 2 hours of shooting. It does take a lot less time to charge than an OEM battery though. This is understandable I guess in a battery that costs one seventh of the OEM Canon battery. I use it as a backup's backup just in case.

Not a bad battery for the price. Haven't had the chance to abuse it yet, but so far it performs similarly to name brand equivalent. Backup power is a must and for a few bucks, really you aren't loosing out.

Like a few other postings... I am luck the battery even powers up the G9 and if it does, it immediately dies after showing a full charge... then leaves the camera lens open and extended. I was FRIED on a 5 day outing in the Colorado mountains with NO extra battery. Charger shows fully charged in 5 minutes, put it in the camera... same bad situation.

If you want to play it safe and have a dependable backup battery... go get the Canon.

I've been using this replacement battery for a couple of months now. It holds a charge well and works very reliably. It's certainly as good as, or probably better than, the original one that came with my camera, and it was much cheaper than the replacement Canon battery.

This item actually fits nicely into the camera and allows me to make about five photographs before failing. If I take two shots rather quickly while the low battery indicated flashes all is well and sometimes I'm able to fully shut the camera down before it dies. I plug it into the nifty charger that Canon supplied with my G9 and it charges right back up in about 4-6 minutes; ready for another 4-6 shots. I really appreciate all of the practice I've had in changing the battery but I'm feeling that the frequency of change is crimping my creative process.

I just used this battery for a 3 model shoot. It took over 1000 shots in my Cannon XTI using flash 50% of the time, and it was still going strong, when I was dead. Duracell has nothing on this battery.

The saying that if it is too good to be true it probably is... I bought 2 of these from Adorama. They give me about 1/3 the pictures of the Canon batteries; so much for saving money with the cheaper price. In my XTi I get no low battery warning - one second (literally) it shows a full battery, I take a shot and the battery (either one of the two I bought) are dead. I put them in the Canon battery charger - and within 10 minutes they are supposedly fully charged - the green light comes on and the charger does not charge them further. NOTE: I have 3 Canon batteries and they work just fine in the camera and the charger.

I have been amazed at how long this battery holds a charge - much longer than the Canon brand battery. Charges quickly and keeps a charge while sitting in my bag waiting to be used. Going to buy a few more. This was a lifesaver at an all day shoot.

great battery, charges to full fairly fast compared to other rechargeables I have used in vid cams, etc. Accidentally left camera on overnight, even with power save feature of camera feared it would have lost most of the charge, nope. Almost 500 pictures, many with flash and it and it's companion in an external battery grip are still plugging away

My Canon S50 (and the backup s50 I have), did not run for very long on any of the old Canon batteries I had. I decided to try buying a new battery before figuring the cameras were just worn out. When I received my new battery, I charged it up and tried it at the Day Out with Thomas. I since then have shot around 150-200 pictures and a couple videos. I finally needed recharged after that. I was pretty impressed with the long lasting charge. I will be buying a couple more!

I have used this battery so far through 2 charge discharge cycles. I didn't carefully measure recharging times or battery run time, but would say it is comparable to the original battery that came with the camera, but at a much better price.

After about 10 months of use, it would not hold a charge well and would allow only about 20 pictures to be taken. I would put money on it that it is not lithium-ion. The OEM Canon battery is still going strong with no signs of weakening after 16 months.

The G-9 is good on battery use, but you still need to carry a couple of spares for a full day's heavy shooting, esp. if you chimp a lot. A good value from a good company.

I just purchased a Canon Digital SLR and wanted a backup battery. After a month of use, I would have to say that this battery matches or exceeds the OEM battery in capacity and charge times. I'll probably buy a couple more before camping/vacation time rolls around.

So far, somewhere from 3000 to 4000 pictures using the Adorama battery in the last six months, and a lot of those are 30 second to 2 minute exposures (I do astrophotography).

I've been switching off between the OEM and the Adorama battery. It seems to me that the OEM battery lasts very slightly longer, but that may be just a figment of my imagination. I used the Adorama battery this weekend -- I spent all day at the zoo, left the camera on, and took over 300 pictures with a 300mm lens, and never had to swap batteries. The battery works great.

I was skeptical of a generic battery but was using it as a backup to my canon. I was extremely pleased with the battery life and think that it last even longer than original.

The only slight note is that is appears on the level monitor as 100% full for a long time and drops off quickly once it declines.

I bought this for the price, but I'm not really happy with the extra amps this battery puts out. I ended up recieving 3 of them and one is 300 amps over the Canon's battery they supplied with the camera. I have had no issues but it does scare me a little that it could do something to the camera
