I waited until Canon made a camera just for me and . . . THIS IS IT! It does all I ever wanted in digital photography - what more can I say. Buy this combo.

While this is easily a camera good enough for most pros, it's also great for those who've outgrown their everyday pocket digital and want to become more serious. The auto settings are easy to get comfortable with, and then you can move into the more creative modes, with plenty to explore and room to grow.

I've shot more than 1000 images under all kinds of conditions since purchasing this camera. The results have been spectacular The camera has the heft and the feel of the Canon F-1N that I've been using for the past 25 years. The manual controls took a little getting used to. It needs a better system for previewing the depth of field. A minor annoyance since you can take a photo, examine the result, adjust and take another.

I took some hand held, avialable light photos with the image stabilization on and it worked as advertised.

This is a camera any serious amature photagrapher should consider.

The camera can be used as a wonderfully easy to use point and shoot camera with great results OR it can be used in a professional creative mode to obtain some truly exceptional photos. The owners manual takes some time to read and to understand but it is worth the effort.
