I busted my first SD1000 and the repair costs completely outweighed a brand new one. That said, don't drop it.

The picture quality is a lot better than an Exilim that I owned. The camera controls are very easy to use and menus are intuitive. I'm a big fan of the features like 'color accent' feature because it makes for some on-the-fly creative pictures. The video camera also works great for capturing those must-see antics of friends.
