Used as seconday portable camera. Found recoil time to take 2nd or 3rd picture to be slow in low light when using the flash. Battery life last one day on regular batteries but found life to be extended tremendously with lithium ion rechargables. Takes great photos though and is a good zoom lens for something that is small and not a larger dslr.

I bought this camera because of the 10X zoom and Canon's reputation for quality. I do have a DSLR, but it is not always convienent to carry a big camera with all of my lenses.
My biggest adjustment was the lack of a viewfinder. It was a little hard to get use to. I also wish Canon supplied a recharge battery. I either have to bring lots of batteries with me, or several sets of rechargeable AA. There is a definite lag time between pictures after using the flash.
On the pro side I like the advantage of a non pop up flash. On other cameras the flash pops up when the camera thinks there is not enough light. In some instances this can give you an over exposed picture. The picture quality is excellent with good color saturation. Sometimes the picture on the LCD looks grainy, but as long as you auto focus your subject the picture comes out perfect. This is not a substitute for a DSLR, but a great second camers to have.

I bought this product for it's macro functions to photograph plastic models and painted figures. It exceeded my expectations in that function and other general uses. The more I use it the better I like it.

The only problem is the slow flash recovery but with the type of photography that I purchased this camera for it is a minor setback.

I would recommend this camera to anybody for general and close-up photography.
