Because I often use fill flash, I like that this camera will sinc at any shutter speed (an SLR cannot do that) allowing me to use my external flash in bright sun without any problems. Also, with its extented zoom and many sophisticated functions, it will do almost anything a low end SLR will do. Good Buy.

This camera is the less expensive version of the Fuji S5, and has film simulation and dynamic range features as well. And with the sealed construction, you never have to worry about dust on the CCD.
The 28-400 mm lens is all that most people will ever need, so you won't have buy expensive lenses, and carry them around.
Another great feature is high-speed shooting of up to 50 frames, at 7 fps, that came in handy during a recent wedding.
The S100fs is a "monster", with a 67mm diameter lens, and weighing 34 oz with the battery, it's not for someone with small hands, or who wants a light-weight consumer camera.

I wanted a Digital DSLR I was looking at the Nikon D-300 but When I seen what it was going to cost with all of the different lenses I wanted i started looking else. I started looking at the higher priced DSLR look a likes and I came across the F100FS and I don't regret buying it at all.It has to be one of the only point and shoots that have most of the features of higher priced DSLR'S. Once you get use to it most of the needed features are at your finger tips with the command dial. I would not hesitate recommending this camera to anyone that wants a excellent DSLR style camera. I already purchased two more telephoto lenses for it I purchased the Oly 14B and the Raynox 2020pro. I already have the Nikon TC-E17ED which I am dying to try also. All in all I would give the camera A 10+. It has everything that you could basically want in a camera without spending thousands of dollars.

I been looking for a good camera for a couple of months. I bought an Olympus DSLR and a Sony DSLR, but I returned them. Didnt like them in low light photos. So, I ordered the S100FS. The results are amazing. Great IQ in basically any light. The pics are outstanding. The colors are vibrant and true to the real thing.
It takes time to learn how to use it, but It is worth it.
Loved this camera. The best camera I've ever own
