I own another FujiFilm digital camera that was a point and shoot and was very happy with it, I wanted a little more professional type camera and I trust FujiFilm products that is why I chose this camera and am glad I did. Love the camera and the ease of use and it takes great pictures.

This camera is very easy to use, rotary mode selector, loaded with features, easy menu layouts. 18X optical zoom! Image stabilization works OK. Takes nice pictures. The panoramic shots are very nice. Build is solid. The price is very good around $150-160.I did have a quirky thing happen when I was shooting outdoors @ 34F air temperature. The camera locked up and the LED indicator flashed and would not reset until I opened the battery compartment and closed it again. This happened 3X in a row. I continued to use the camera after that without problems at that temperature. It could be that I did not let the camera adjust to the temperature long enough. I have not had that problem since. The battery life seems a bit short to me, but using NiMH batteries greatly helps. Video picture quality is very good. Video sound is low and not usable. Other than the lockup issue, I like this camera and would recommend it as long as it stays reliable.

Poor image quality. Hard to take a focused photo using Automatic settings. Those photos that were in focus were very grainy (noise) when you take a close look at it. The videos are very good though.

Comments about Fujifilm Fujifilm FinePix S1800 Digital Camera, 12.0 Megapixel, 18x Wide Angle Zoom, 3.0" LCD plus Viewfinder, DI Stabilization, HD Movie Function - Black:

I own a Nikon D700 and several lenses from a 24-70 f/2.9 a 70-200 f/2.9 as well as a 150-500 f/4.5-5,6. I wanted something small to keep close at hand when taking a large camera bag wasn't convienient. I saw the camera on a home shopping show and perchased it since the camera wasn't available here at Adorama. I am very please, the quality is not quite what a DSLR is but very close. The camera is fast, sharp and the zoom is great for telephoto. There are 2 macro's one that you can zoom in on the subject and the second allows you to get within 2 inches of the subject. It's as good as my Nikon 105mm f/2.8 with VR. I'd reccommend this to anyone who wants a great camera for a great price.
