I bought this for the fact that I had issues finding an old film Minox Spy Camera, so I figured what the heck. I did my research on the old and new cameras to get a general understanding of what I was getting myself into and proceeded on buying this item. Conclusion? I love every thing about it.

Besides the fact that this is a prime example of taking from the past and modernizing it, this camera has been a fun addition to my equipment. Do I use this as a serious camera in serious situations? No. That would be silly. Do I use this when I'm hanging out with friends or taking photos for my travel blog? Yes.

I have used this in the daylight, night, in the shade, in the city, on the beach, and even at a karaoke bar. I love the feel and the product from every click of the shutter release.

It's compact and easily fits in your pocket. It also has a chain attachment (not for use when using the flash) that can definitely prevent you from losing it if you have loose pockets. It also comes with a leather case which does provide adequate protection. The quality of the shot does vary based on where you are. Are you in the sunlight? Are you in the shade? How much light do you have? These examples will create different image quality so some shots might be perfect while others might have some blur to them.

The flash unit that comes with works extremely well. Took me a second to figure out how to make it work correctly and I was on my own at that point. It works well and does provide enough lighting when using. It works great in small enclosed areas with low ceiling. I would highly recommend shooting in portrait style though so you have the flash shoot directly at your subject.

You will not get high quality images. Just remember that. This is a 5mp camera. It's a borderline novelty camera. The Minox name alone brings some assurance on the item. I will stand by the camera though as I love every time I use it.

Also, as what happened with me, you will baffle and bewilder old photographers with this camera. It happened with me and a great conversation followed.

This camera is indeed a great cross of nostalgia and novelty, but you will have fun with it.
