I just received a refurbished D40. The packaging wasn't great, as it didn't have bubblewrap at the bottom of the box. When I shake the camera, something is shaking inside the camera. Took some shots with it to make sure it's okay and so far, it's fine.

Such a nice camera especially for the price. It focuses fairly quickly and it's uber quiet. Nice compact size (what i was looking for). Good stuff.

Again, my only problem is whatever is shaking inside the camera.

Overall, thanks adorama.

A really great bargain for a brand-name digital SLR and lens package. Unlike the Canons the Nikon kit lens is very sharp. The 6 megapixel resolution is more than enough for enlargements. The camera body and lens appear to be like new and come with a 90-day warranty. Pair this with Adorama's 55-200 VR Nikon refurb zoom for [$]and you've got all you need to get terrific pictures for under $600.I've taken about 200 pictures in the four days I've had this camera and they're sharp and have beautiful color. Buy it now while they still have some available at this price!

I am very happy with the D40. This is my first SLR, and it is a very good choice for a beginner. I don't feel that 6 MP causes any limitations, unless you're producing very large prints. The high ISO quality is very good. Overall, I have no complaints with the image quality.I ordered the REFURBISHED D40. [...]This is a quality camera, and I am confident in Nikon reliability.
