Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

I ordered this camera as a back up to my D300s when it first came out, and waited (and waited) to get the item. The image quality is so good that my old camera went on [...] the very next day. In good light there is not much difference, but but I shoot a lot of ballroom dance in lower light conditions and this camera is fantastic for this. I can print 16x20 photos shot at 3200 ISO with no problem. The camera is easy to use if you've used any kind of Nikon DSLR in the past and is pretty solid, I've already dropped it on concrete from 3 feet with no problems. The only negative is the buffer, the specs indicate it is a lot smaller than the D300 cameras and in practice it is even worse. When shooting action I no longer shoot RAW (the JPEG files on htis camera are fantastic anyway) and it isn't too much of a problem.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

The D7000 is my fourth DSLR (previously owned Sony Alpha 100, Alpha 300, and most recently the Nikon D90). I am using it with the 70-300VR, 16-85VR, 35/1.8G, and 50/1.4G lenses, and SB-700 flash.

The D7000 is very similar in size and function to the D90, which has been one of Nikon's more successful models. There are a few improvements that made the D7000 worth it to me to upgrade. I spend a lot of time at the beach, and the D7000 allows me two stops (1/8000 shutter compared to 1/4000 on the D90, base ISO of 100 compared to 200 on the D90) to use my primes closer to wide open when it is very sunny and bright at the beach. Additionally, the improvements to the autofocus system (including the introduction of the button on the A/M switch on the body to change AF modes), low-light performance gains, and the second SD slot are very nice to have over the D90.

I've had good success with refurbished equipment from Nikon. This camera was indistinguishable from new. It had about 30 shutter actuations when I received it. Cosmetic condition is perfect.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

I have been using the D7000 with the Nikon 200mm f/2G IF-ED AF-S VR II Lens mainly for sporting events. I have only used the sports scene auto settings and the images have been nothing short of spectacular. I'm sure if there was a market for high school and junior high school lacrosse photos I could be making the big bucks. I recently started using the Nikon TC-14E II 1.4x Auto Focus Teleconverter, and the results have been amazing.

I have not found a downside to this camera. It is great for pretty much everything. I take it everywhere although some may find it to be a little on the heavy side and it will not fit in your pocket. If lookin for light and small stick with a point and shoot, if looking for some outstanding pictures in all lighting sources this camera is for you.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

I traded in the D90 to get the D7000. I was not disappointed. The D90 was great. The D7000 is better. The overall image quality in addition to the low light capture ability make this a superb camera. Tech reviews have even placed it in the same category with full frame cameras because of the crystal clear image quality able to be achieved with this new platform. Put the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 on this camera for some OUTSTANDING portrait and wedding photos. I can't say enough about the quality of this camera.

My primary uses are for personal and documenting technical and manufacturing processes at work. The D7000 is easy to use, controls are thoughtfully placed, the menu system is easy to use and banks of settings can be stored in "U1" and "U2" for instant access on the command dial. Be sure to read the manual, the camera is very capable, the user needs to understand the capabilities.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

After years of frequent shooting in 'no flash zones' (e.g., churches), the D7000 is like stepping out into the light. Hi ISO's previously unachievable--with my old D40x--create clear low noise, handheld shots. I've encountered NONE of the focusing issues that some users have reported. The learning curve is somewhat steep--not unexpectedly--but the camera is readily usable immediately out of the box. [...]

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

This was a great little camera that impressed me a lot. Very light and smaller frame than most, but when it came to photo and video shooting, it was strong competition for D300s and 7D. In some aspects, it beat those competitors. It was a little noisy and after holding a D300s for so long, it felt a bit too much like a toy in my hands, but that is more on preference. Double SD slot's were good but I liked how the D300s had an SD slot and a CF slot. The 7D only has 1 7D slot.
If you are looking for a good D300s wannabe that does almost everything the D300s can, but with WAY better video capabilities, this is for you. The D7000 is the D300s' younger over achieving brother.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

I moved up from the D40 so I am still learning how to really tap the potential of this camera, but it's capabilities are all that you've read about. From low light to Auto WB to Auto ISO, this camera just keeps churning out great pics, letting you focus on aperture, shutter speed and composition. It feels great in my hands, I have big hands, especially paired with the battery grip. If you are looking for a great semi-professional camera with plenty of capability and flexibility, this is the camera to buy. Pair this with one of the Nikkor Prime lenses and you've got a great low light kit. Pair this with one of the cheaper tele-zooms like the 55-200 or the 70-300 and you'll be able to pick up your kids at their events or when you head to your pro or college events! Beware, it's not light.

I have been shooting with 2 D300's ever since they came out and I love those cameras. I have been eager for the D400 to comeout but after the earthquake I thought it might be a year delay and decided to buy the D7000 as a filler camera. After using the bigger D300 holding the smaller D7000 though I had made a mistake. But then I shoot at 6400 ISO. Wow the focus is faster then any camera I have yet tried. The high ISO is better. The images are great

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

I needed a body only - and fast - for a video shoot (I have a D300). I have bought one prior Nikon-refurbished DSLR, and it did have some focus issues, which the seller (not Adorama) quickly replaced) - so I was a bit concerned about a problem. But this time, I received a body at $100 discount with 8000 shutter actuations - clearly a demonstrator. But it didn't have mark on it. I purchased a 3 year Mack warranty. Hopefully, I won't need it.[...].The D7000 is, as most reviewers have reported, a pure joy to use, for both stills and video. I ran a test against my D300, and found it produces slightly better images at 200 ISO and 3200 ISO. At 200 ISO, it has less noise and slightly better resolution and dynamic range than the D300, but only side-by-side testing and 400% enlargement can detect any advantage. Focusing is slightly quicker than the D300 in the focus-release mode (I always use this, because I have no use for out-of-focus images).I have had occasional issues with an 80-200mm f2.8 Nikon AF on my D300, but saw none on a brief test with the D7000. This lens has an epic reputation in the film era, and at f4-5.6, it is still great on the D7000, but softer at f2.8 than one would want in flat lighting. The lenses that really bring out the best in the D7000 are the Nikon 35mm f2 AF and the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 AF. The D7000 with the Nikon 35mm is the very best street photography combination since the Leica M4P/50mm f2 Summicron. If you put the D7000 in the "quiet" mode, you have a DSLR that only the Leica can beat in quietness. You just have to put up with a somewhat slower mirror return. But even in low light, the D7000 autofocus is dead on. I shot a frame-filling candid portrait of my son by the light of a restaurant neon sign, at 1/10th second and f2 at ISO 1600, and the plane of focus was precisely through his near-camera eye - you don't get better than that! And the shadow area didn't have objectionable noise at all.One quirkiness - if you store a video on one of the SD cards in the D7000's twin slots, the camera will attempt to store all videos on that card - and will refuse to shoot video on the other card, even if there's plenty of room on it. I thought the camera had failed, until, on a hunch, I pulled the full second card from the camera, and it then stored video on the other card. This occurred whether the empty card was in slot 1 or 2. This isn't a full-frame digital, but it probably represents as much as current technology can squeeze from this size sensor. Be prepared to see RAW images up around 16mb each, versus the 12 mb with the D300, so buy stock in Western Digital or Seagate. Combine the D7000 with an iPad running the Photogene photo processing app, and an Apple Camera Connection, and you have a complete field package that can handle just about any professional assignment.

The image quality on this camera is outstanding. The higher overall resolution coupled with a good prime lens (50mm, f1.4) will deliver some outstanding contest quality images. You won't be disappointed in this camera.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

I already own a D300, but this much cheaper camera, bought as a back up, is now my #1. image quality, LCD, low light are all superb. THe only downsides are that the camera is very light (doesn't feel like a pro camera, and I worry about robustness), which also has upside of course, and Nikon have again changed batteries, memory cards, so I have had to go out and buy the full set of 'support materials' again. But for the prime job of taking photos, it is wonderful value for money.

Comments about Nikon Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body - Refurbished by Nikon U.S.A.:

This is the best DX format DSLR that Nikon has made hands down! (still doesn't compare to FX cameras)

The 16MP resolution is nice, but isn't really needed unless you print MASSIVE prints or severely crop your photos.

The video is production quality as long as you have fast glass. (AF isn't great with video, but quality videos are shot in manual anyway)

This is the smallest magnesium body that Nikon has made, which makes it a bit heavier than expected, but VERY durable.

Definitely the best DX camera made!

Having used the D40, D80, D90, D3000, and D5000, this blows them all away. I don't think you can find a better camera in the DX format from Nikon. The pictures are crystal clear from ISO 1600 and down. They're low noise even as high as ISO 6400. If you're used to the D90 or D80 you'll take to this thing like second nature... and probably fall in love.
