I decided to make the transition from film to digital and selected the D80 specifically because it doesn't do video -- I just have no desire to do video or live view, plus this camera was closer to my film cameras in control aspects. I especially liked the 11 selectable focus points and the top LCD. For me, the transition is still a large learning curve, but I'll get there. I ordered the body with the kit because of the extra battery, which makes things really nice. You can have one charged and ready to go and one in the camera.
