I purchased this camera as a more compact and lighter camera to carry as a supplement to my larger DSLR. It's a great size and easy to carry, easy to use. Quality of still images is very good, but video seems a bit jerky. Built in flash is pretty much useless, and I get a better quality photograph in low light without using the flash. Video button is inconveniently placed and it's easy to accidentally press the video button while taking still shots. The memory card is awkward to remove from the slot. Despite these inconveniences, I do like the camera, as I mostly shoot still images, primarily landscape. The art filters are fun. I would, however, NOT buy the KIT, as the card reader that came with it does not work, and after a few uses, the SanDisk Extreme III 8GB card that was in the kit, failed, and I lost several irreplaceable photographs. I would recommend this camera model to a friend, with reservations.
