I bought this camera as a backup to our two Canon 5ds and one MkII 5D. In wet countries I have lost primary camera usage when they get moist and hot. This camera was well under $100--takes 14MB pics that are pretty sharp, though of course you are at F5.6 with zoom. I am amazed at what good quality is available now with a cheap camera. It would be a good primary camera for a point and shoot person as it requires no skill at all to use in auto mode. It's a great backup but it's no 5D of course. I'd buy it again.
