This is the perfect camera for someone like me who tends to be a bit abusive with electronics. I drop my cell phone almost daily, luckily I haven't dropped it in water yet.
So here is the camera that I can forget to put away in its protective case, drop on an occasional basis, and not only can get wet, but is built to shoot underwater!
I probably looked at just about every compact digital camera out there, and this one is also the best looking model I've seen. It has a very sleek and substantial feel to it, without being overstated like some of the other "rugged camera" models. Also from what I've read and experienced thus far it has the best picture quality of any of the rugged models. Sure, the picture quality is not up to the specs of a professional photographer, but this is a compact model camera after all.
In conclusion I would highly recommend this camera!

My 2 year old daughter trashed my last camera so I wanted something rugged. As soon as I received this camera, I took it into the pool and took underwater shots which was a great novelty. That same day it slipped out of my hand, crashed 4 feet below on the ground, and evidenced no signs of damage at all. Pictures could be a bit sharper but, for a simple point and shoot, I'm very impressed. The video is especially impressive. If you're looking for a water/shock proof camera, I highly recommend this camera!
