Used primarily where the quick response time is useful. This is an unbelievablly quick camera. Great lens. The chip is not quite up to some of the competition.

Excellent color and view screen. Very good zoom range and iq. Fast enough for kids when prefocused. Compact, but dense. Feels exceptionally solid and well-made.

I've owned Canon S-series cameras before now, but the Ricoh has them beat for construction and jpeg quality, and I don't have time to fool with RAW files anyway.

I wanted a small camera to take with me on bike trips, walks, etc. This fits the bill. It seems easy to use and I've been pleased the outcomes. It works well with close-up or macro type photos.
