simply put i have tried mosy of the others including the Nikon P4 and none come close to the pictures that this camera takes. No i dont sell these things so i have no reason to lie about how good it is!

For a serious photographer, this camera is close to the perfect point-and-shoot -- it handles very well and the user interface enables easy access to most controls. In many ways this camera is a real breakthrough. The build quality is superb, it feels like a "real" camera.
Unfortunately the camera is a bit schizophrenic; one part serious camera, the other frivolous "cell phone" features that many users will probably never touch. I'd much rather see better controls over image development, especially with the current trend towards dropping raw support on P&S cameras.
There is no battery charger, nice for light weight travel. But a drag if you want to keep a battery in reserve. The USB cable is also non-standard, also a drag -- probably a huge drag if you loose or damage the original camera.
For my taste the colors are too saturated and noise is objectionable above ISO 400. The anti-shake feature is not Nikon / Canon style VR or IS, but software processing. The results are not pretty . . .
The "text recognition" mode doesn't, it only sets the camera to produce high contrast images that may be more amenable to OCR processing.
Hopefully Samsung will stand behind the NV cameras and continue to improve on a very good start.

This little gem is a real treat to use. It is sharp looking as well as a great pic taker. Out of the box and set on auto guarantees great lifelike color pics! With this camera you will find the most accurate and life-like colors of any digi cam out there...and I own 10 of them!
Pics are contrasty and have a very Kodachrome-like quality about them. Positively the best auto white balance outdoors I have seen.
The interface with the smart buttons is unique and very easy to use. The LCD screen is bright and vivid..one of the best.
Pics have a little noise but when printed you will not notice.
A keeper in my book. Nice job Samsung!
