Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
If you need to add lenses or filters to the S30/40/etc line of bodies, this adapter is the way to go for sure. However, it's fairly bulky to carry and doesn't work too well with the sliding lens cover. On mine, also, the cylinder which surrounds the lens has a tendency to fall out and need to get put back on (not a major inconvenience, but worth mentioning).
