Best quality material.
Needed with the converter lens on the sp series with telescopic lens. Must extend zoom all the way or you will get a tunnel look. It works for me ok. No complaints.
THE ADAPTOR IS TOO LONG, IF YOU ATTACH AZOOM LENZ TO IT IT WILL BE EVEN LONGER, VERY ANTTRACTIVE AND CLUMSY

The lens on SP 560 offers more than enough zoom range. 27-486 mm is quite sufficient. The reason I bought the CLA-10 conversion adapter is to be able to use filters. With the adapter there is a very significant vignetting effect at the shorter focal length end of the zoom range. It really is quite a price to pay for the ability to use filters.

The black circular shadow at wide angle you see is actually the tube itself. Its not because its too short, it is too long! However if it were shorter, the lens would crash into whatever you have attached to the CLA-10 when you zoom in. Because of this, about all the CLA-10 is good for is attaching TCON-17 telephoto lens. I have noticed threads on the camera lens itself. With the right size adapter, one could attach a filter or two directly to the lens (the CLA-10 attaches directly to the camera body, which is good for heavy add-on lenses like a telephoto). When attaching directly to the lens, be careful not to use anything of any significant weight!

I bought this to use filters with My Olympus SP-550 UZ Digital Camera. The only problem is that it is a bit short at zero zoom. It will creat a circular shadow on the out side of the picture. However with this camera most of the pictures will use some zoom and will not have this problem. Olympus needs to make one of these specifically for filters that is a bit longer.

The CLA-10 adapter is used primarily to fit the TCON-17 teleconverter to the Olympus SP-550 UZ camera. It is also the only means by which UV, polariser and other filters may be used on this camera. Essentially, it means that you can not employ filters in wide angle / closeup situations directly on the camera and that is really dissapointing. I'd recommend the adapter and teleconverter, but certainly not the camera.
