Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this lens for my Panasonic PV-GS 500 camcorder. It really works fine. There is no loss of picture definition at all. One of only a few items I have purchased in my life that actually lives up to its advertisement and DOES what it says. And at 82mm, it allows me to record in a darker environment. There is, as expected, vignetting up to 3x-4x but from 4x on it is pretty darn good. NICE PRODUCT.

Lens is very sharp
By Still a NoviceVerified Purchaser from Sheboygan, WI on 2/7/2007
Pros:
Easy To Use, Improves Product Function, Lightweight
Cons:
Lens cover won't stay on, Step-up ring is flimsy
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The lens cover pops off in the bag.
I bobbled the camera and the lens hit a chair leg. The lens was un-damaged, but the step-up ring broke.
That said, the pictures are as expected, clear and bright.
Somewhat more vignetting than I expected, but my expectations were overly optimistic.
All-in-all the product does as advertised.

Great add-on lens
By PapaVerified Purchaser from The wilds of New Hampshire on 2/6/2007
Pros:
Great quality
Cons:
None
Best Uses:
Great for birding
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Tried an inexpensive 2X add-on lens and returned it. The lens from Raynox appears to be quality and performs as well as advertised. With the proper sized adapter ring, it screws on easily and transforms my 10X zoom Fuji Finepix S5200 into a 22X zoom. I do not notice any depreciation in the quality of the pictures (See attached)

It's light and it works
By Tom the Traveller from Vacaville CA on 1/2/2007
Pros:
Easy To Use, Improves Product Function, Lightweight
Cons:
some flare
Best Uses:
Sporting Events, Traveling

Easy to use. I put it on a Fuji S9000 and it worked fine. It showed more flare in the viewfinder than in the actual pictures. It's light and it definitely needs a tripod.

BEAUTIFUL!
By Fickle09 from Highland, Utah on 12/30/2006
Pros:
Improves Product Function, Lightweight
Cons:
Not Functional
Best Uses:
Home, Sporting Events, Traveling

THIS CONVERTER IS AMAZING, BUT I HAD TO ORDER A TWO INCH, 52mm LENS EXTENSION TUBE SO THAT IT WILL BE COMPATABLE WITH MY NIKON COOLPIX 8700. THE ADAPTER I HAVE IS ABOUT 2 INCHES, BUT APPARENTLY THAT IS NOT LONG ENOUGH TO ALLOW MY CAMERA TO ZOOM OUT TO THE FULL 8x ZOOM. NOT A BIG DEAL THOUGH. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE.

IT IS SO CLEAR! IF YOU LOOK THROUGH IT WITHOUT PUTTING IT ON THE CAMERA, EVERYTHING LOOKS MORE DEFINED AND MORE 3D. iT'S AWESOME!
ALSO, IT LOOKS VERY IMPRESSIVE ON ANY CAMERA.
