The adapter holds the lens hood or a wide angle lens. What can I say about those. Now the camera is what impresses me. It has unbelieveable function for such a small package. Shoots Raw and JPEG together. It is still in focus when 1 CM from the subject. And many more features. We have a GX100 and a GX200.

This hood/adapter, plus a quality 43mm UV filter (I use B+W MRC) enables me to have my GX100 out and ready without worrying about damaging the lens. I tend to wear my camera around my neck so it does swing around a bit at times, and I like being ready for unexpected opportunities so I hate constantly turning the camera on and off and fiddling with the lens cap. The filter and tube keep dust and fingerprints away from the lens, and the rubber hood both greatly improves flare control and absorbs shocks and bumps. The assembly snaps on securely using a bayonet mechanism. It does partially block the built-in flash at 35mm setting and wider, but I use an external flash so this hasn't been a problem for me.
